The Christchurch Garden Railway Group promotes the modelling of railways, of any prototype, in a garden setting.  Some railways are fitted into established gardens , while others have the gardens formed around the railway. Most garden railways are established on 45mm gauge track and the locomotives may be track powered, battery powered or live steam. Radio control is, in most cases, the norm, while many still run with track power. The pictures on this page are a small selection of the railways we visit on our get togethers.

The Group meets monthly at the homes of members for Running Days. These Running Days enable members to view progress on other members gardens and railways.  New ideas are shared and visitors trains are run, along with the hostís trains. A monthly newsletter, The Garden Whistle, is sent to all members. If you are interested in being part of our groups activities or even just recieving the newsletter, please contact one of the listed people below
